It’s All About Identity (1)

Hi Fellow Builders,

I wanted to take an opportunity to share with all of you some conversations we have had as a family.  These conversations have actually occurred over the past three years as we experienced download after download of exciting revelation from The Lord.  As a result of this revelation, we felt compelled to look at and evaluate the fullness of our individual walks with The Lord.  Those revelations are what I feel lead to share, with the prayer that you and your family will experience the same life changing transformation that we did.  God is so awesome!

Our first “adventure” down God’s transforming path was all about “Identity”.
In the past few years I have come to learn, through God’s revelation, that our walk as Believers is based largely on our realization of our “identity”. So what do I mean when I talk about “identity”?  We as Believers have really only one identity that should drive our entire life… “Who we are in Christ”. This identity makes up who we are, what we do and is derived from how we see ourselves in our relationship with God.  There is a huge identity crisis with Christians, affecting our walks, our vertical relationships (with God) and our horizontal relationships (with people around us) .

If you ask a fellow Believer “Who are you in Christ?”,  you will get varied answers.  Our answer again originates from how we see ourselves in our relationship with God.

Your True Identity
Your true identity is solely based on the fact that God loves you wholly and completely and cannot not love you more or less than He already does!  God sees the Jesus in you and your completeness in Him.  All you have to do is align yourself with Him and walk in what He has already done.  He has laid out your path with the end (your completeness) in mind.  When you see yourself as God sees you, realize that He has more for you than what you are currently accessing. We simply have to walk in what He has already provided.  He has a gift, a perfect solution, for every situation we face. Anything less than a perfect solution IS NOT what He intends. When you assume the “Identity” God has given you,  you will see things very differently… you will see things from The Lord’s perspective…as His Beloved.   (More about transformation in the next post)

Take the Step
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

“Behold”, I like to think of that as a “Shazam” moment… a change of “Identity”.  This journey into “Identity” starts with a single step.  Remember, when God asks you to take that step of faith and walk into what He has, the ability to complete the request automatically comes with it.

2 Corinthians 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

The key is, you must take that step.  If you feel like you are stuck in your walk, you probably are.  God has already laid out a journey for you, and like all journeys, it starts with the first step.  God is faithful to fill you in on the rest of your journey as you proceed, but you must take that first step!

Here are some things I want you to remember:
All of Heaven is attracted to the Jesus in you.
God is for you… ALWAYS!
You are His Beloved!

God is better and more awesome than we think… so we MUST change the way we think.  We must assume our new “Identity”!

I would like you to spend some quiet time with The Lord and ask Him the following:
“God, who do You say I am?”
“Who do You want to be for me?”
“What step have you invited me to take?  Show me and I will take it!”

Take time and start a conversation with The One Who Loves You, More Than Anything!
