Sticks and Stones…
” The Priciple of Honor states that: accurately acknowledging who people are will postion us to give them what they deserve and to receive the gift of who they are in our lives.
Honor creates life giving and life promoting relationships. The key here is ‘accurately acknowledging who people are’.
We can only do this when we recognize their God-given identities and roles.
A Culture of Honor is created as a community of people learns to discern and receive people in their God-given identities…not according to the aliases they have received from people.”
The above are excerpts from the introduction to “Culture of Honor”.
We’ve all heard the childhood song, “Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.” What a lie!! Names DO hurt and they tend to STICK in your memory like a smelly old shoe! Names and Identities are important — good or bad — they can define you for the rest of your life!
Have I piqued your interest?
I want to challenge you – to challenge yourself and trade in some old broken ways seeing other people. I want to challenge you to join us in discovering HOW to accurately acknowledge who people are!
Let’s learn how to allow God to over-write our hard drives and learn our OWN identities in Him!
