The Culture of Honor!

Several years ago I read a book written by Danny Silk and Bill Johnson entitled “Culture of Honor”.  I have since re-read this book 4 times and have spoken of it more times than I can count!!

“Through many relevant and true-life stories, the church is revealed as a place of freedom, respect, empowerment, and healthy discipline (not punishment). Culture of Honor challenges the status quo of church leadership structure and presents a refreshing view of the five-fold ministry.

Jesus acknowledged this important principle in Matthew 20:25-26:
“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.”

 
“If those with power learn how to empower those around them, then surely it will come to pass that, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.”

“In a culture of honor, leaders lead courageously by treating people according to the names God gives them not according to the aliases received from people.

 Life flows through honor.”

I can safely say that you probably haven’t been offered a class in “Living out Honor” in your educational history – until NOW!!

This Biblically solid teaching witnessed with my spirit!  It flies in the face of Western Church culture (in a good way) and confronts what we’ve been taught for generations…challenging every one to consider “What would Jesus do with THIS modern day situation?” whatever it is on any given day!

I invite EVERY person who is a leader in ANY capacity to JOIN US and read this book and be transformed as you put into practice the art of cultivating honor in your household and life!

Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
